Introduction

In this article, you will see the procedure to configure a mailbox in IMAP and POP3 via the Thunderbird mail client.

Procedure

Turn on Thunderbird, then click on "Email" under "Set up an account:" :

Here enter in the fields:

• Your name: Votre nom/prénom ici ce sera "Ma messagerie"
• Email address: l'adresse mail de votre boite mail
• Password: le mot de passe de votre boîte mail

Then click on "Continue".

Thunderbird will automatically propose a configuration, but it will not be functional, so click on "Manual Config".

Here is the information to enter:

Note: Si mon domaine est toto.fr cela donnera messagerie@toto.fr pour l'adresse, mail.toto.fr pour les serveurs sortants/entrants.

• Incoming:

- IMAP ou POP3 selon le protocole que vous souhaitez utiliser
- Server hostname: mail.domaine.tld
- Port: 993 pour IMAP, 995 pour POP3
- SSL: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Encrypted Password

• Outgoing:

- Server hostname: mail.domaine.tld
- Port: 465
- SSL: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Encrypted Password

• Username:

- Incoming: Mettre l'adresse mail
- Outgoing: Mettre l'adresse mail

Puis cliquez sur "Done"

Une fois fait votre client de messagerie est prêt à être utilisé.
