554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means.
Reason(s)
You have received this error message because your sending email server doesn’t respect one or more standards applicable to electronic mail and defined within RFC 822 It is possible that the MTA server rejected your message for one or more of the following reasons.
- The sending domain has been created recently. Know that by default a domain will be marked with a bad reputation, that it will build over
- The sending server has been blacklisted. This is probably since it is, or has been used, to send email in quantity or sending undesirable messages (SPAM).
- The configuration of your SPF Record is incomplete or has been incorrectly set up. The SPF Record allows one or more IP addresses to send email on behalf of the specified domain
- Reverse DNS does not return the same value; When you send with server mailserver.mydomain.abc that after a PING returns IP 123.456.789.123. However, a reverse DNS on this IP returns mailserver.otherdomain.abc. (You’ll get this value when you interrogate the IP with a PING -a command) In this case it is possible that the MTA rejects your message.
For obvious reasons some of the above are difficult to achieve within a mutualised hosting environment such as an Ikoula DirectAdmin structure. On one server you may find several registered DNS’ to whom will apply different usage methods.
Solution(s)
To counteract on such unpleasantness you have the possibility to switch over to one of our dedicated server packages. As suggested by the error message itself you can also contact your recipient and have him or her request their IT services team if they have the possibility to whitelist your domain and/or email server.
